Terry Davis: We should improve cultural co-operation with areas outside Europe

[09/12/04] Speaking at a press conference in Wroclaw this morning, Council of Europe Secretary General Terry Davis stressed that improving cultural co-operation between Europe and other parts of the world should be a priority for the future.

The Secretary General said that particular attention ought to be paid to developing relations with countries in the southern Mediterranean region and in sub-Saharan Africa, and that he would very much like to strengthen the Council of Europe’s North-South Centre in Lisbon for that purpose.
