Aim
The study session aims to empower a group of young European Muslim student activists to be competent to counter the discrimination they face, through a rights-based approach, in order to reinforce a fair treatment of Muslim and minority students.
Objectives
- To raise awareness and understanding about the broader barriers that Muslims and minority students face.
- To empower students to recognise and effectively assert their rights within the educational system, particularly in combating Islamophobia and discrimination.
- To create a safe space for participants to share their experiences within their local context and exchange strategies for overcoming their challenges
- To develop tools to Advocate for the implementation of policies and guidelines within educational institutions to address challenges and barriers that minority students face in the education system.
- To foster a sense of belonging and creating a network of activists that can collaborate to use and update the advocacy tools created.
