Today, at the closing session of the World Forum for Democracy, the Council of Europe announced that the winner of its Democracy Innovation Award is Astrea Justice – Justice Code Foundation Trust, Zimbabwe.
Three initiatives out of the 30 or so presented at the Forum were shortlisted for the final vote:
- Le mouvement « Nouveau Type de Citoyens » ONG Nouveau Type de Citoyens (NTC), Benin (Lab 2)
- Mind the Gap National Museums of World Culture (Statens Museer för Världskultur), Sweden (Lab 3)
- Astrea Justice – Justice Code Foundation Trust, Zimbabwe (Lab 5)
The Forum brought together in Strasbourg 900 participants from 80 countries across the world to answer the question “Democracy: a new hope?”.
