Judges of the Constitutional Court of Albania gathered at a two-day workshop in Roshnik, Berat aiming to strengthen consistency and predictability of their decisions. The discussion focused on aligning Constitutional Court rulings with those of the European Court of Human Rights, ensuring alignment with European standards.
“This workshop is crucial for safeguarding human rights under the European Convention, an important step forward in enhancing legal certainty in Albania”, highlighted Giulia Re - Head of the Council of Europe Office in Tirana during the discussions.
This initiative contributes to a more effective protection of fundamental rights for the Albanian citizens and improves implementation of the European Court judgments. By promoting coherence and predictable constitutional decisions, the Court helps increase public trust and integrity within Albania’s legal system.
The activity was organised in the framework of the Action Improving the protection of the right to property and facilitating execution of ECtHR judgments in Albania (D-REX III), part of the European Union and the Council of Europe joint programme Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye.
