EDQM On Air, the podcast on public health brought to you by the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare (EDQM) of the Council of Europe, has released a new episode: Join the network: stories of the experts shaping the European Pharmacopoeia.
The European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.), which sets the quality standards for medicines in Europe and beyond, is the product of scientific rigour, dedicated exchange, passion and consensus among thousands of scientific experts from all over the world who, over the years, have contributed their expertise – whether in biologicals, herbal medicines, chemical analyses, or other pharmaceutical fields.
Ph. Eur.’s expert groups help shape science-based standards that ensure medicines are safe, effective and of the highest quality. This podcast episode shares the stories of two such experts - from why they got involved and what they’ve learned, to why this work matters so much, not just for their careers but for patients all over the world.
This podcast is part of a larger campaign inviting scientists from national authorities, regulatory agencies, Official Medicines Control Laboratories (OMCLs), academia, and industry to contribute their valuable expertise. It is an opportunity for them to collaborate with leading specialists, contribute to public health and see their scientific work make a tangible difference in patients’ lives.
