  • Best Practice Programme (BPP)
  • Capacity building to authorities of the Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauzia (under PCF)

The Centre continued providing support to the implementation of the BPP and to the decentralisation reform in 2015.

The Republic of Moldova is also a part of the Programatic Cooperation Framework project for Eastern Partnership Countries (PCF) which is managed by the Centre’s team in the Council of Europe’s Chisinau office.

Capacity-Building focused discussions - Round table

The Centre of Expertise for Local Government Reform via Council of Europe office in Chisinau continuies implementing an activity Capacity-Building for the staff of the People’s Assembly and Executive Committee of Gagauzia in the field of legislative initiatives and opinions on draft laws as a part of the "Strengthening Democracy and Local Governance in the Eastern Partnership countries" Programme under the UE/CoE Programmatic Cooperation Framework (PCF).

CoE experts presented topic-related findings and recommendations concerning improvement of local and national frameworks, as well as training needs assessment of local staff at the Round table held in Comrat, on the 17 of February 2016. Central and local stakeholders (heads of the EUD, CoE Office, the State Chancellery, Gagauzia Governor’s office and People’s Assembly etc.) highly appreciated recommendations and welcomed the next step of this activity - upcoming training for staff of the Autonomous Territorial Unit’s authorities, which is envisaged for current March.
