The Italian Association of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (AICCRE), with the support of the Centre of Expertise for Good Governance, will implement ELoGE - the European Label of Governance Excellence – for the first time in Italy, in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

On 6 October, an online launch event will be organised in order to present the ELoGE tool to the public and to the elected officials of the municipalities of the region. Among the participants are the Italian Minister for Regional Affairs and Autonomies, the President of the Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the President and Secretary General of AICCRE, and the Director of Human Dignity, Equality and Governance of the Council of Europe.

The participating municipalities will assess their compliance with the 12 Principles of Good Democratic Governance. It will help them identify their strengths and weaknesses, make improvement plans, and learn from each other. At the end of the process, municipalities which comply with the 12 Principles will be awarded the Label.
