A consult meeting on a concept of the new law on legality supervision over local authorities’ acts took place on 5 July 2018 in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Mr Hennadiy ZUBKO Deputy Prime Minister for Regional Development, Construction and Housing, Mr Viacheslav NEHODA First Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Mr Serhiy VLASENKO Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on State Building, Regional Policy and Local Self-Government, the leaders of local self-government associations, other senior officials as well as Council of Europe experts participated in the meeting.

The participants considered the concept presented by the central reform office under the Ministry of Regional Development and recalled the conclusions of the “moderated negotiation meeting” held on 26 April at the Council of Europe. The discussions focused on the definition of acts for legal supervision, various policy options and measures, cooperation between central and local authorities, advisory institution.

The meeting was organised in the framework of the Council of Europe Programme “Decentralisation and Local Government Reform in Ukraine” in cooperation with the Ministry of Regional Development.
