RESIST – Strengthening Societal Resilience to Disinformation in Europe
What is the goal and objective of the RESIST?
In addition to countering disinformation, RESIST focuses on why people are vulnerable to it.
Our aim is to empower citizens through:
- media and information literacy,
- critical thinking, and
- better media, education, youth, and cultural policies.
By supporting countries to close gaps in national policies, RESIST works to protect information integrity, to foster inclusive public debate, and helps build a stronger democratic culture across Europe.
Grounded in the Reykjavik Principles for Democracy, RESIST contributes to the goals of the New Democratic Pact for Europe through strengthening democratic resilience while staying true to the Council of Europe’s mission: safeguarding human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
