The visual identity of the European Social Charter, created by the Italian artist Luca Rimini, is always published together with the logo of the Council of Europe.

It illustrates three faces which unite to form a hand, as a symbol of unity, solidarity and cooperation. The hand may also be seen as offering protection and as being a vector of control.

This reflects what the Charter is about and what the European Committee of Social Rights is seeking to achieve – the implementation of human social rights through the efforts of the States Parties to this instrument, and subject to compliance within a legal framework monitored by an independent body of a judicial nature.
