Visit to France on the execution of the European Court's judgments

On 19 January, a delegation from the Department for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights carried out a mission to Paris and met with representatives of the Legal Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, in presence notably of the Deputy Director of Legal Affairs and the Head of the Human Rights Department.

The discussions focused on the 27 French cases currently pending under the supervision of the Committee of Ministers and on ways to strengthen cooperation with a view to increasing the efficiency of the execution process. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close dialogue, which has contributed significantly to the reduction in the number of pending cases in recent years (22 French cases were closed in 2025, including 13 leading cases).
