The 2nd Larnaca Region Intercultural Network Meeting was been successfully held, thanks to the support of policy-makers and local stakeholders on 18 May. 

The network coordinators thanked the Municipalities of Larnaca, Athienou and Aradippou, whose attendance demonstrated the willingness of the district’s leadership to raise awareness about interculturality to improve the quality of life in Larnaca region. They also thanked the European Commission Representation in Cyprus and the Deputy Head, Mr Nikolaos Isaris, whose support emphasises the significance of Larnaka’s potential to become a leading intercultural  region. 

The participants discussed the results of the Intercutural Index Analysis for the Larnaca District, and examined the good practices with a view to seeing how they could be adapted and applied in the region. The Larnaca District network will continue their work preparing their intercultural action plan and begin its implementation. 

This activity was implemented in the framework of the “Building structures for intercultural integration in Cyprus” project which is being carried out with funding from the European Union, via its Structural Reform Support Programme, and in co-operation with the European Commission's DG for Structural Reform Support.
