25. NOVEMBAR DAN BORBE PROTIV NASILJA NAD ŽENAMA

Nasilje u porodici ubije po jednu ženu svakih 12 minuta. Svako od nas može da uradi nešto protiv takve statistike, kao žrtva, kao creator politike, kao građanin.

 

            Jedna od tri žene će da doživi fizičko ili seksualno nasilje u toku svog života. Najmanje 200 miliona devojčica I žena su doživele genitalno sakaćenje.

 

            Čin nasilja nad ženama, bilo da je fizičko nasilje, seksualno iskorišćavanje, prisiljavanje devojčica na neželjene brakove ili genitalno sakaćenje, nisu slučajne nesreće ni usamljeni slučajevi izvršenih krivičnih dela. Oni su deo društvenog mehanizma koji dozvoljava ili toleriše diskriminaciju žena. Zbog rasprostranjenog nereagovanja da se spreči nasilje, nasilje nad ženama I devojčicama predstavlja možda najzastupljeniju vrstu ugrožavanja ljudskih prava našeg doba.

The European Programme for Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) supports the Council of Europe (CoE) member states in implementing the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) at the national level, in accordance with the Committee of Ministers Recommendation (2004) 4, the 2010 Interlaken Declaration, the 2012 Brighton Declaration and the 2015 Brussels declaration.

This is done by enhancing the capacity of judges, lawyers and prosecutors in all 46 member states to apply the ECHR in their daily work. Indeed, legal professionals, who are at the forefront of the protection of human rights, including those of victims, must benefit from high-quality training.

"HELP in the EU", funded by the European Union

The European Programme for Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals in the 27 European Union Member States (HELP in the EU) supports legal professionals from the EU in acquiring the knowledge and skills on how to refer to the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union (the Charter), the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and the European Social Charter (ESC).

Furthermore, they will get familiar with the European jurisprudence. It also reinforces the HELP Network of National Institutions (NTI) and Bar Associations (BA) in the EU.
