Which communication for the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe?

The 5th edition of the Training Academy on Cultural Routes, organised by the European Institute of Cultural Routes, took place at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg (France), between the 20 and 22 June 2016.

The 2016 Training Academy on Cultural Routes was organised in the framework of the Erasmus+ HECTOR Project and Council of Europe-European Commission Joint Programme.

The Academy was opened by Ambassador Mrs. Michele Eisenbarth (President of the Statutory Committee of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, EPA), Mrs. Snežana Samardžić-Marković, (Director General of Democracy, Council of Europe) and Mr. Carlo Krieger (Member of the Governing Board of the European Institute of Cultural Routes; Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg). Council of Europe Director Mrs. Claudia Luciani also attended the opening remarks, presenting a written welcoming to participants by Mrs. Pilar Barraca de Ramos, Member of the Bureau of the EPA Governing Board and International Coordinator for the Ministry of Culture, Spain.

Training modules were delivered by the HECTOR University network using interactive methodologies and working groups. Over the two day training, Cultural Routes managers discussed issued linked to communication, addressing topics varying from new media, communication with different audiences, institutional communication for governance, as well as Cultural Routes communication and accessibility. A special workshop was devoted to presenting Council of Europe activities in the education, culture and youth fields.

25 representatives from Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe as well as 9 candidates Cultural Route projects attended the event attracting over 100 participants.
