The Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers has published the case-by-case decisions taken during its meeting from 9 to 11 June on the implementation of judgments and decisions from the European Court of Human Rights.
The Committee of Ministers adopted 42 decisions concerning 24 states during the meeting, as well as one interim resolution concerning the Mammadli v. Azerbaijan group of cases. The Committee also adopted 19 final resolutions in respect of 36 judgments and decisions from the Court, concerning 15 different states.
In addition, the Committee adopted the consolidated indicative list of cases to be examined during its next meeting on the execution of rulings from the European Court, which will take place from 15 to 17 September 2026.
High-level participants in the meeting included the Minister of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Davor Bunoza (online), the Minister of Justice of Portugal, Rita Alarcão Júdice, the Acting Minister of Justice of Ukraine, Liudmyla Suhak (online), and the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Justice of Poland, Dariusz Mazur.
Under Article 46 of the European Convention on Human Rights, judgments from the European Court of Human Rights are binding on the states concerned. The Committee of Ministers supervises the execution of judgments on the basis of information provided by national authorities, civil society organisations, National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) and other interested parties.
