About this activity

Sometimes the Autobiography of Intercultural Encounters (AIE) is used as a private journal that only the user sees. More often it is shared in some way. For example:

  • The facilitator and the user discuss it on a one-to-one basis
  • The users may want to share their AIEs with each other
  • The AIEs can become the basis of a class discussion

Whenever the AIE is shared, the facilitator needs to make decisions about how to consolidate and extend learning and how to encourage the realisation of that learning in practice. In this activity you look at the last section of the AIE, Thinking back and looking forward, and discover ways of acting upon the learning that has taken place.
