The climate challenge is also an energy challenge. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is the first and vital step in the fight to save our planet from environmental catastrophe.

In order to achieve the climate goals set by the Paris Agreement, countries will have to invest in financial, technical and capacity building actions to establish a new system of energy production and consumption.

The transition from fossil fuel to renewable and sustainable energy resources risks leaving many behind. Communities, governments, private companies and international organisations all have a role to play in a just transition to renewable energy.

In October, we will explore the principles of energy democracy and learn more about achieving universal and just access to sufficient and affordable energy. Join the discussions and learn more about the challenges and solutions in the process of decarbonising the grid.

Debate on Citizens' proposals on cross-border cooperation in times of Covid-19

FRIDAY, 22 OCTOBER 2021, 10.00-11.30 A.M. CEST

organised by Région Grand Est together with Missions Publiques and the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg

Between December 2020 and April 2021, 40 randomly selected citizens from Baden-Württemberg and the Grand Est Region debated about cross-border cooperation in the Covid-19 context. During four exchange sessions, an overall view of cross-border cooperation and concrete recommendations on various topics were developed. Through this event, we would like to share the results with French and German politicians from different decision-making levels, in order to be able to implement some of the citizens' recommendations.
