The Council of Europe has taken a significant step to address the refugee influx in Armenia by launching a €2.8 million comprehensive response package. This package encompasses four new initiatives and integrates additional components into two ongoing projects.
On 11 November the Council of Europe, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, presented the key achievements of the Comprehensive Response Package to the Refugee Influx in Armenia. In an exclusive interview with the Public Radio of Armenia, high-level representatives of the Council of Europe spoke about the progress of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Armenia, in particular, the key achievements of the refugee support package, and also outlined current and upcoming activities.
Key Objectives:
- Protecting Human Rights: Ensuring the rights of refugees are safeguarded.
- Resilience of Local Communities, strengthening the communities that host refugees.
- Social Rights: Upholding social rights for all, including vulnerable populations.
- Children and Women: Focusing on the well-being of children and women.
- Support to Human Rights Institutions: Bolstering institutions that champion human rights.
