Kyle Matthews is the Executive Director of the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies at Concordia University. At Concordia, he founded the annual AI and Human Rights Forum and the Digital Mass Atrocity Prevention Lab, which works to counter online extremism and study how social media platforms are being used as a weapon of war. His work focuses on human rights, international security, emerging technologies and countering authoritarianism. He is a member of the Global Diplomacy Lab and the BMW Foundation’s Global Responsible Leaders network. He is currently a Fellow at the Canadian Institute for Global Affairs.
