The Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on the Operation of European Conventions on Co-operation in Criminal Matters (PC-OC / Terms of reference / List of Conventions) is the forum in which, since 1981, experts from all member and observer states and organisations come together to elaborate ways to improve international co-operation in criminal matters and identify solutions to practical problems encountered in the application of Council of Europe Conventions in this field. The PC-OC held its 83rd meeting

The PC-OC held its 83rd meeting on 2-4 May 2023. Main items on the agenda included the application of the European Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters to co-operation with the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, a 3rd Additional Protocol which will update this Convention, the development of guidance regarding the post-surrender phase in extradition proceedings, as well as practical experiences and difficulties encountered by States in extradition and mutual legal assistance cases. The meeting also included a presentation by and exchange with a delegation from Thailand on the country’s mutual legal assistance framework, and a presentation by the UK Central Authority on its digitisation programme regarding international co-operation in criminal matters.
