On 17 March, Mr Davor Bunoza, Minister of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina, signed the Council of Europe Convention against Trafficking in Human Organs, known as the Santiago de Compostela Convention.

There are now 15 States Parties to the Convention and other 14 signatories, including Bosnia and Herzegovina. This signature demonstrates the country’s commitment to combating organ trafficking and upholding fundamental rights.

This significant step comes just ahead the International Day Against Organ Trafficking (25 March).

The Convention remains open for signature and accession to all States worldwide, reinforcing the global response to this crime.
