“Social Crisis Center”, a Kharkiv local NGO, launched the Ukrainian campaign “16 Days of Activism” on November 24th in a conference. The participants included the structural departments of the Oblast State Administration, local City Council representatives responsible for violence against women and domestic violence, representatives of law enforcement agencies and NGOs.
Ms Natalia Sukhorukova, “Social Crisis Center” representative, presented Council of Europe (CoE) Project “Preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence in Ukraine” and the Convention on Preventing and combating violence against women (Istanbul Convention). She also introduced participants to the Advocacy Strategy for the ratification of the Istanbul Convention by Ukraine developed by a network of Ukrainian women’s organisations, developed in Kyiv in October in the context of the CoE project. Project summaries and stickers were disseminated among all participants.
