Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland met today with Frans Timmermans, First Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Better Regulation, Inter-institutional Relations, the Rule of Law and the Charter of Fundamental Rights.

Topics of discussion were the refugee and migration crisis, the fight against violent extremism and radicalisation, as well as the EU accession to the European Convention on Human Rights. Jagland and Timmermans underlined the increasing co-operation of both organizations and their complementary actions, for example in the fight against terrorism.
