The Council of Europe’s anti-corruption body Group of States Against Corruption (GRECO) on Monday published a new compliance report looking at how Ukraine has been implementing its previous recommendations on fighting corruption.

The report focuses on criminalizing all corruption offences (incriminations) and ensuring transparency of party funding. Overall, Ukraine has implemented satisfactorily or dealt with in a satisfactory manner 10 of the 16 recommendations contained in the Evaluation Report. Six remaining recommendations have been partly implemented.

The Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland welcomed the report, saying “legal changes to criminalize corruption and ensure transparency of party funding are a positive development, and now they must be implemented”.
