Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland will open an international conference on the role of NGOs at Warsaw University, Poland, on Friday 22 March, together with Polish Foreign Minister Mr. Jacek Czaputowicz.
The conference, organised by the Polish Foreign Ministry, the Council of Europe, and the University of Warsaw, will debate the role of NGOs in political discourse, as the Council of Europe marks its 70th anniversary.
A joint press conference with the Secretary General and Foreign Minister Czaputowicz will take place at the Polish Foreign Ministry at 1:30 pm.
Secretary General Jagland also will have meetings with Mr. Jarosław Gowin, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Higher Education and with Mr Marek Kuchciński, Speaker of the Polish Parliament (Sejm) and with members of the PACE delegation of Poland.
