Schools at World Forum for Democracy 2017: 'Is populism a problem?'

As for previous sessions, participants from Council of Europe schools of Political studies attended the 6th session of the World Forum for Democracy, which topic in 2017 was 'Is populism a problem?'.

In addition to the overall Forum events, special events had been organised specifically for the Schools, notably meetings at the European Court of Human Rights, bilateral meetings, networking lunches, a storytelling session and a diploma ceremony chaired by the Secretary General of the Council of Europe.

The Network of the Schools was also sponsoring a Panel entitled: 'What responses to anti-migrant populist rhetoric and action?'

The Association of the Schools of Political Studies also held a public debate in Strasbourg on  9 November: "Populism: A force for good or ill?".
