A delegation of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities will participate in the United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) 2025. On this occasion, Nazia Rehman, Chair of the Congress Social Inclusion Committee will speak to highlight the critical need to speed up the localisation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the vital role of local authorities in protecting and promoting social rights. Several bilateral meetings with a range of stakeholders are also scheduled to take place in the margins of the event. The HLPF is the main UN platform on sustainable development and plays a central role in the follow-up and review of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its SDGs.
