Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić is visiting Brussels today, where she is speaking at the opening plenary session of the Ideas Lab 2024, organised by the Centre for European Policy Studies, alongside European Commission Executive Vice-Presidents Valdis Dombrovskis and Maroš Šefčovič and Belgium’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hadja Lahbib.
In addition, the Secretary General held a bilateral meeting with Mrs Hadja Lahbib to discuss the follow-up to last year’s Reykjavík Summit of Council of Europe Heads of State and Government, developments concerning the Register of Damage for Ukraine and the European Union’s accession to the European Convention on Human Rights.
Discussions will also focus on Belgium’s on-going Presidency of the European Union and the 75th anniversary of the Council of Europe in May 2024.
