The 17th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for Sport will be organised by the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) in co-operation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye.
Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić will open the event together with the Minister of Youth and Sports of Türkiye Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu.
Two main themes are on the agenda:
- Sport for all: uniting us for stronger societies
- Rethinking sport: leading the way for a healthy and sustainable future
Deputy Secretary General Bjørn Berge will close the conference with the Minister of Youth and Sports Kasapoğlu.
Football Icon and Board Member of the UEFA Foundation for Children Clarence Seedorf will be one of the keynote speakers for Sport for All theme.
Olympic Champion and President of Ukraine National Olympic Committee Sergii Bubka will be one of the keynote speakers for Rethinking Sport theme.
The Conference will bring together representatives of over 50 countries.
Two press points (9.50 to 10.10 a.m. and 4 to 4.30 p.m., local time) will be streamed live.
A side event on the integration of migrants and refugees through sport with Special Representative of the Secretary General on Migration and Refugees Leyla Kayacik will take place on 27 October.
