Is the Pestalozzi Programme a European programme?
Yes but not from the European Union : the Pestalozzi Programme is the Council of Europe flagship programme for the professional development of teachers and education actors.
Is this programme for all teachers?
Yes but not only, it is intended for:
- teachers ;
- heads of school;
- educational advisers,
- teacher trainers ;
- textbook authors;
- other education professionals.

The training activities of the Pestalozzi Programme are open to all education professionals from member states signatory to the European Cultural Convention.
How much should I pay to participate in an activity?
Activities (Trainer training courses, workshops, National dissemination and training events or summer school) are free of charge. Travel and subsistence costs are borne by the Council of Europe and the organisers of the training.
How to participate?
First, be sure you come from a signatory country of the European Cultural Convention . Second, select which activity in which you would like to participate in (workshop, summer school or Trainer training courses (ex-modules)) and follow every step for each of the proposed activity (all details are on the details programme on the calendar). Then, registration can only be made using our online registration system.Candidates can only participate in one European Workshop OR Summer School in a two year period
May I just participate on the first or last day of an activity?
Participants commit to actively participate throughout the full duration of the activity.
What is the required language level?
You must be able to sustain a professional discussion and debate in the working language of the course/activity (minimum B2, CoE levels).
I'm interested in more than one programs. Can I apply for more than one?
The Pestalozzi Programme was the Council of Europe's programme for the professional development of teachers until the end of 2017.
