This page makes it easier for external users to access our collaborative spaces, enabling the sharing of information and documents among all members.

Prerequisites

  • For the first login, we strongly recommend using a computer to access the restricted area and a smartphone to activate multi-factor authentication (MFA) in step.
  • Please note that access to TEAMS is only possible from a computer.
  • Do not forget to save the address of your collaborative space as a favourite.

Procedure to follow using a computer and a mobile phone

Please click on the following steps in succession:

1) SET/RESET PASSWORD 2) ACTIVATE 2-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION 3) ACCESS THE COLLABORATIVE SPACE

2. Activate 2-factor authentication

 

A. Download the authenticator app

If not already done, please install one of the two authentication apps listed below on your phone. Click one of the links below to install either of the two authentication apps.

     

Google Authenticator          Microsoft Authenticator

Next, go to the collaborative space that was shared with you (‘teams.coe.int’ or ‘coe.sharepoint.com’) to configure multi-factor authentication (MFA) and access the collaborative environment.

 

COE’s Web authentication system window will open in the default browser on your computer. Enter your CoE login and the password you just created or reset in Step 1.

 

Microsoft will prompt you with additional security questions; click on Continue (1), Accept (2) and Next (3).


    

Have your mobile phone ready and open your Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator app.

  1. If you downloaded Microsoft Authenticator, click on Next to continue.
  2. If you downloaded Google Authenticator, click on I want to use a different authenticator app and follow the link.

Please note: it is not obligatory to use Microsoft Authenticator.

 

 

Instructions for Microsoft Authenticator

You will be prompted to set up your account in Microsoft Authenticator, to accept the notifications and choose "Work or School Account".

If you have already done this, click Next.

 

A QR code will be generated. Prepare your mobile device.

 

Open Microsoft Authenticator on your mobile device.

  1. Tap on Verified IDs.
  2. Tap Scan QR Code.
  3. Scan the QR code displayed on your computer screen.
  4. Once scanned, click Next on your computer.

        
 

On your computer screen, you will see a verification number. Type this number into the notification screen that appears on your mobile device and tap Yes.

    
 

You will see confirmation screens indicating that the authentication was successful.  Click Done and then Next to complete the process.

         

Once the setup is complete, you will be automatically redirected to the collaborative space.

 

Instructions for Google Authenticator

1. If you installed Google Authenticator, click on I want to use a different authenticator app (1), then follow the link provided.

2. Click on Next (2) to continue.

 

In the next window click on Next (3) to continue.


 

Open Google Authenticator on your mobile device.

  1. Tap on Add a code. 
  2. Tap Scan a QR Code. 
  3. Scan the QR code displayed on your computer screen.
  4. Once scanned, click "Next" on your computer.

        

 

On your mobile device screen, you will see a verification number. Type this number onto the screen that appears on your computer and click "Next".

    
 

You will then see a confirmation screen indicating that the authentication was successful.  Click Done to complete the process.
