Compendium of promising practices on access to nationality for stateless children presented at UN in Geneva

The recently published Compendium of Promising Practices on Access to Nationality for Stateless Children, developed by the CDCJ was presented during a side event held at the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. The event was co-organised by UNHCR and Child Identity Protection (CHIP), and co-sponsored by the Council of Europe and the Global Alliance to End Statelessness to On 2 March 2026,,

It highlighted ongoing efforts to ensure that every child can enjoy the fundamental right to a nationality. Bringing together practical legal and administrative measures, the compendium offers valuable guidance for policymakers and practitioners working to prevent and reduce child statelessness across Europe.
