The first meeting of the Working Group on “Unauthorised removal, including theft, from the supply chain of medical products” took place on 22 October 2025 in Paris, in a hybrid format. The meeting marked the launch of the Group’s mandate to prepare a report, a Guidance Note for adoption by the MEDICIRME Committee and a recommendation.
Members and participants from the Committee of the Parties, INTERPOL, WHO and independent experts discussed recent national developments and the growing challenges linked to theft, diversion and losses of medical products within the legitimate supply chain. Persistent gaps in reporting, the lack of harmonised definitions, and the need for stronger cooperation across regulatory, law-enforcement and customs authorities were highlighted.
The work of this Working Group will be presented at the CoP’s 10th Plenary meeting (9–10 December 2025, Strasbourg).
