Promoting social human rights as a key factor of sustainable democracy in Ukraine
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
Council of Europe Project "Promoting social human rights as a key factor of sustainable democracy in Ukraine" is implemented by the Council of Europe within the framework of the CoE-Ukraine Action Plan for 2018-2021.
Duration of the Project - 24 months (1 August 2019 - 31 July 2021).
Total budget of the Project - 500 000 euro.
EXCPECTED RESULTS OF THE PROJECT
Impact: Democracy is rendered more sustainable through enhancement of social rights in line with European standards.
Objective 1: Social rights policies and practices are coherent and synergised at the national level and aligned with European standards in the field of social and economic rights, providing for proper protection and implementation of social rights.
Objective 2: Reporting procedure on the implementation of the European Social Charter is improved and the quality of the national reports submitted to the ESCR is improved, providing accurate and complete data.
Objective 3: Awareness on human social rights and the system of the European Social Charter is increased among target groups (including legal professionals, social/civil servants, students of law and social science) and public in general to enhance implementation and protection of social rights.

National partners: Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ministry for Veterans Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine, State Migration Service of Ukraine, State Labour Service of Ukraine, regional administrations and the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine, Office of the Commissioner on protection of rights of people with disabilities, Office of the Government’s Envoy on Gender Equality, Office of the Ombudsperson.
Other partners: Civil Society Organisations; International Organisations and other development partners.
Target groups: Social workers, social partners, civil servants, judges, lawyers, legal professionals, students and academia, staff members of the Ombudsperson’s office.
Final beneficiaries: The general population of Ukraine, who should benefit from the reforms in the area of social rights and experience better provision and protection of their rights.
