Delegation of the Venice Commission undertakes online consultations in Ukraine on the draft Law №3711

On 9-14 September a delegation of the Venice Commission undertakes online consultations in Ukraine with the aim to discuss provisions of the draft Law on Amendments to the Law “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges” and certain laws on the activities of the Supreme Court and Judicial Authorities (№3711) with the key national stakeholders and international partners. This visit is organized following the request which was submitted to the Venice Commission by the Speaker of the Parliament Dmytro Razumkov. The Venice Commission received the request by letter of 7 August.

The Venice Commission delegation comprises of:

  • Mr Nicolae Eșanu, substitute member, Republic of Moldova;
  • Mr Martin Kuijer, substitute member, The Kingdom of the Netherlands;
  • Mrs Hanna Suchocka, Honorable President of the Venice Commission;
  • Mr Gerhard Reissner, DGI expert, Republic of Austria;
  • Mr Schnutz Rudolf Dürr, Head of Division of the Constitutional Justice, Secretariat of the Venice Commission, CoE, Strasbourg;
  • Ms Silvia Grundmann, Head of Division of the Democratic Institutions and Fundamental Rights, Secretariat of the Venice Commission, CoE, Strasbourg.
