Strengthening co-operation in the protection of social and labour rights: working meetings between Ukrainian and Moldovan partners

On 19 March, in Chisinau, bilateral working meetings took place between a Ukrainian delegation and representatives of the authorities of the Republic of Moldova as part of a study visit aimed at exchanging experience in the field of social and labour rights protection.

During the visit, the Ukrainian delegation held meetings with representatives of the People’s Advocate Office of the Republic of Moldova and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova.

The main topics discussed included:

  • mechanisms for monitoring compliance with social and economic rights;
  • the practice of preparing alternative reports to the European Committee of Social Rights on the implementation of the provisions of the European Social Charter (revised);
  • the functioning of the social dialogue and interaction between its parties on current issues in the field of labour and employment.

The Ukrainian delegation included representatives of the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, the National Mediation and Conciliation Service, and the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.

The meetings contributed to establishing bilateral contacts and strengthening co-operation.


The visit of the Ukrainian delegation was supported by the Council of Europe project “Strengthening the social dimension in Ukraine”, implemented within the framework of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine “Resilience, Recovery and Reconstruction” 2023–2026.
