The first meeting of the selection panel of the Best Practices of local governments was held on 12 October, 2017 in the Ministry of Regional Development. The meeting was opened by the Chairman of the contest panel, Mr. Vyacheslav Nehoda, First deputy Minister of regional development, construction, and housing and communal services of Ukraine.

This year 119 applications from more than 100 local governments of all levels were received for participation in the contest.

During the meeting the members of the selection panel discussed the procedure of the contest, the schedule of work and distributed the applications according to the categories. The winners of the contest will be determined by the end of November 2017. The Award Ceremony will be scheduled before the Day of Local Self-Government.
