On July 22, the National Media Association together with the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy and the EU-funded project “EU and Council of Europe working together to support freedom of media in Ukraine” will hold an online discussion about the third chapter of the draft law “On Media” 2693-d on the regulation of public audiovisual media.

During the event, participants will talk about the changes proposed by the draft law on audiovisual media, as well as present the standards of the Council of Europe and international best practices in this area.

The representatives of local TV and radio organizations, media, public authorities, local self-government bodies and civil society are invited to participate.

The event will be held with the support of the USAID “Media Program in Ukraine” project implemented by the international organization Internews and in cooperation with the project “EU and Council of Europe working together to support freedom of media in Ukraine”.

Background information: EU-funded project «EU and Council of Europe working together to support freedom of media in Ukraine» aims to enhance the role of media, its freedom and safety, and the public broadcaster as an instrument for consensus building in the Ukrainian society and is implemented until 9 July 2021.
