In response to the new challenges facing the world, the Council of Europe’s project “Promoting civil participation in democratic-decision-making in Ukraine” has promptly moved its activities in online format offering existing and new partners and beneficiaries a continuous tailored support in strengthening and enhancing municipal legal frameworks for civil participation mechanisms and strengthening the capacity of public officials, citizens and NGOs in participatory decision-making through customized online trainings and mentoring programmes.

Apart from a systemic expert support in enhancing the local regulatory frameworks for civil participation, the project is supporting municipalities in setting up new participation mechanisms in the spheres of School Participatory Budgeting and civic engagement in urban public spaces development.

The project ‘online toolbox’ provides online game-based trainings Uchange, online courses in effective public consultations, the online multi-module “Academy of Civil Participation” for local officials, NGOs and citizens around implementation of municipal Statues and regulations for civil participation, the mentoring programme for NGOs and local officials “Mentoring for Change”.
