Young European Ambassadors from the Republic of Moldova recently trained in  anti-discrimination, joined the Human Rights Caravan 2026*. Their mission was to raise awareness about inclusion and equality and to further echo the message for a free and equal society in local communities.

Through interactive activities and engagement with community members, the ambassadors encouraged people to stand against discrimination, foster solidarity, and embrace diversity. They also shared with visitors of the Caravan knowledge about the work of the Council of Europe when it comes to the protection of human rights and how to recognise and act against hate speech, as well as how to create counter-narratives to hatred.

This action added a strong youth voice to the efforts of building communities based on respect for all citizens, dignity, and solidarity, as well as inspiring local communities to strengthen the culture of human rights and support inclusive societies.

By connecting internation human rights standards with local action, the Human Rights Caravan 2026* fostered dialogue, empowered individuals and inspired lasting change, demonstrating that young people are leaders and advocated for a better, more inclusive future.

This activity was organised in the framework of the Council of Europe project Combating discrimination, hate speech and hate crimes in the Republic of Moldova, financed under the Council of Europe Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova with support of the joint EU/CoE regional project “Promoting equality and non-discrimination: towards more resilient and inclusive societies”, part of the programme “Partnership for Good Governance”, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe.

*The Human Rights Caravan was organized by the People's Advocate Office of the Republic of Moldova in partnership with the Council of Europe, UNICEF Moldova, UNHCR Moldova, OHCHR, the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova, and local authorities in Fălești, Hîncești, and Comrat towns, with the aim to bring citizens closer to institutions and promote dialogue on human rights, under the slogan "Your Rights Are Our Concern!".
