The Centre of Expertise for Good Governance supports the "Leadership Academy for Cross Border Cooperation" for the local authorities along the Ukrainian-Polish border. The project has been carried out in cooperation with the Polish Foundation to Support Local Democracy since 2019. Sixteen local officials - eight from Poland and eight from Ukraine - participate in the practical, interactive workshops which are conducted by the certified Council of Europe trainers from both countries. During the sessions, participants learn how to improve institutional leadership and engage their citizens in order to develop better cross-border cooperation between their communities. An essential element of the training is understanding the complex mechanisms of local development, and creation of a sustainable platform for cooperation and cross-border dialogue.

Due to the epidemiological situation, the third stage of the Academy will be carried out in the online format of 3 two-day sessions that last 3 hours each.
