On 26-27 April 2018, a high level delegation from Ukraine will meet at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg to discuss a possible new law on supervision of local authorities’ acts in the framework of the Decentralisation reform in Ukraine.

The delegation composed by the Deputy Prime Minister for Regional Development, Construction and Housing Mr Zubko, the First Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing Mr Nehoda, the Head of the Committee on State Building, Regional Policy and Local Self-government of the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) Mr Vlasenko, as well as heads of the national associations of local and regional authorities, and other senior officials, will meet at the Council of Europe with experts from the Organisation and with representatives of the Préfecture du Bas Rhin. The delegation will also travel to Germany for discussions with officials of the Regierungspräsidium in Freiburg and the City of Lahr.

This initiative, led by the Council of Europe, is organised in close collaboration with Mr Milbradt, German Envoy on Decentralisation to Ukraine and with the “U-LEAD with Europe: Ukraine – Local Empowerment, Accountability and Development Programme”.
