European Committee on Democracy and Governance held its 11th plenary meeting

The European Committee on Democracy and Governance (CDDG) held its 11th plenary meeting on 10-11 September 2020, by video-conference.

As a forum for discussion and exchange of information and practice amongst Council of Europe member States, the CDDG discussed a draft report on “Democratic Governance and Covid-19”, based on contributions by members of the CDDG which can also be found on the dedicated Covid-19 webpage.

Furthermore, the Committee finalised the approval of a Handbook on e-Democracy; updated the Guide on Public Ethics and discussed a new toolkit on public ethics addressed to central authorities. The CDDG also took stock of the implementation of the European Label of Governance Excellence (ELoGE) and held exchanges of views with representatives of the Venice Commission and the Innovation in Politics Institute (Vienna, Austria), among others.
