The Council of Europe has embarked on a new initiative aimed at safeguarding the fundamental rights of children and fostering safe learning environments in Serbian schools.

Entitled “Prevent bullying and peer violence in schools”, this new initiative underscores the importance of creating safe and nurturing environments conducive to learning and personal development for all learners.

Drawing on Council of Europe’s policies, tools and expertise, complementing the important progress achieved by the education authorities, the project will:

  • Empower policy makers, institutions and professionals to implement existing policies to prevent bullying and peer violence in schools
  • Enhance the knowledge and competences of educational staff to foster a culture respect, empathy, and understanding while promoting human rights and democracy

This project is implemented by the Council of Europe and funded by Germany. It is implemented in co-operation with the Ministry of Education from January 2024 to December 2025.
