Today, France ratified the Council of Europe Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions (CETS No. 215), also known as the Macolin Convention, in the presence of Ambassador Marie Fontanel, Permanent Representative of France to the Council of Europe.
“This ratification by France is an important step forward in protecting the integrity of sport from crime and serves as inspiration for other countries to join the Convention”, said the Deputy Secretary General, Bjørn Berge.
The Convention will enter into force in respect of France on 1 October 2023. France became the 9th country to ratify it.
