International Women’s Day – 8 March 2018

A video message from Deputy Secretary General Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni highlights the work that urgently needs to be done to improve women’s rights and gender equality. The Istanbul Convention and the new Gender Equality Strategy are two key pillars of these efforts. The latter will set new standards in the fight against sexism and stereotypes – whether in education and the workplace, or on the internet and social media. Another priority is the protection of the rights of migrant, refugee and asylum-seeking women and girls.
