The Council of Europe supported an online presentation of the analysis of the Legislative and Institutional Framework on conflict of interest of public officials in Morocco which took place on 30 August 2022.

Representatives of the Moroccan National Authority for Probity, Prevention, and the Fight against Corruption (INPPLC) got familiarised with the findings and recommendations in respect to international standards. Additionally, participants raised awareness on legislative and institutional frameworks on conflict of interest in different countries as well as on good international practices.

The meeting was also an opportunity to receive additional information on current conflict of interest system. The comments and additional information were incorporated in the final version of the analysis.

The analysis was conducted upon request of INPPLC and it will serve for further enhancing the Moroccan conflict of interest system including strengthening the detection of the conflict of interest of public officials.

Following the analysis, the Council of Europe will further support INPPLC and other competent institutions in their efforts to enhance their conflict of interest system.

The activity was organised in the framework of the project “Promotion of Good Governance: Fight against Corruption and Money Laundering” (SNAC 4) under the joint EU / Council of Europe Programme “Regional Support to Reinforce Human Rights, Rule of Law and Democracy in the Southern Mediterranean” (South Programme IV).
