Back Council of Europe supports strengthening of Jordanian anti-corruption legislative framework

The Council of Europe supported an online presentation of the analysis of the Integrity and Anti-corruption Act of Jordan on 20 June 2022.

Representatives of the Jordanian Integrity and Anti-corruption Commission (JIACC) exchanged with the Council of Europe expert on findings and recommendations aimed at improving the Jordanian anti-corruption legal framework in line with international standards and practice.

The meeting was also an opportunity to receive additional information, specifically on practical side of the implementation of the Law and practical needs identified to clarify and extend powers of the JIACC.

The analysis which was carried out upon request of JIACC will serve for further enhancing the Jordanian anti-corruption system including strengthening financial and administrative independence of JIACC.

Following the analysis, the Council of Europe will further support JIACC and other competent institutions in their efforts to enhance their anti-corruption system.

The activity was organised in the framework of the project “Promotion of Good Governance: Fight against Corruption and Money Laundering” (SNAC 4) under the joint EU / Council of Europe Programme “Regional Support to Reinforce Human Rights, Rule of Law and Democracy in the Southern Mediterranean” (South Programme IV).
