Main activities:

  • Best Practice Programme (BPP)
  • Capacity building to authorities of the Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauzia (under PCF)

The Centre continued providing support to the implementation of the BPP and to the decentralisation reform in 2015.

The Republic of Moldova is also a part of the Programatic Cooperation Framework project for Eastern Partnership Countries (PCF) which is managed by the Centre’s team in the Council of Europe’s Chisinau office.

Roundtables on Local finance benchmark and on Inter-municipal cooperation in Republic of Moldova

The Centre of Expertise for Local Government Reform is organising a Round table on Reporting on piloting of the Local Finance Benchmark and a Round table on Piloting of Inter-municipal cooperation in Moldova on 29 June 2016 in cooperation with the State Chancellery and Congress of Local Authorities from Moldova.

The main objectives of the events are to review the results of local finance benchmark piloting in 10 municipalities and out-line the LFB prospects, as well as to launch the inter-municipal cooperation in several clusters in Moldova.

The events are organised as a part of the programme "Strengthening institutional frameworks for local governance in the Eastern Partnership countries" under the Programmatic Cooperation Framework (PCF) for 2015-2017 funded by the European Union and cofunded by the Council of Europe.
