Main activities:

  • Best Practice Programme (BPP)
  • Capacity building to authorities of the Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauzia (under PCF)

The Centre continued providing support to the implementation of the BPP and to the decentralisation reform in 2015.

The Republic of Moldova is also a part of the Programatic Cooperation Framework project for Eastern Partnership Countries (PCF) which is managed by the Centre’s team in the Council of Europe’s Chisinau office.

Capacity-Building for the staff of the People’s Assembly and Executive Committee of Gagauzia in the field of legislative initiatives and opinions on draft laws

The Council of Europe via Centre of Expertise for Local Government Reform is implementing an activity Capacity-Building for the staff of the People’s Assembly and Executive Committee of Gagauzia in the field of legislative initiatives and opinions on draft laws as part of the "Strengthening democracy and local governance in the Eastern Partnership countries" Programme under PCF EaP.

The launching of the above mentioned activity was on the 3-4 of December 2015 in Comrat, the Republic of Moldova. It is seen as a small contribution to support the cooperation between central authorities of the Republic of Moldova and the authorities of the autonomous territorial unit of Gagauzia. This activity is welcomed by both central Moldovan authorities and Gagauzia authorities.
